Plantation Midtown Bridge – New Construction Public Hearing

The City of Plantation will conduct a Public Hearing for the proposed construction of the Plantation Midtown Bridge from SW 17th Street between SW 81st Avenue and SW 78th Avenue. The project proposes the construction of a new bridge connection over the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) New River Canal between Westbound (WB) State Road 84 and SW 17th Street. The public hearing will be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at Plantation City Hall, 400 NW 73 Avenue, Plantation FL 33317 and on-line thru Zoom.

The public hearing will begin as an open house at 5:30 p.m. with a formal presentation starting at 6:00 p.m. followed by a public comment period. In the event that the Public Hearing cannot be held on November 10, 2022 due to severe weather or other unforeseen conditions, it will be held on the alternate date of November 15, 2022 at the same time and place. This public hearing is being conducted to give interested persons an opportunity to express their views concerning the conceptual design of the proposed improvements. Persons wishing to submit written statements, in place of or in addition to oral statements, may do so at the hearing, or by sending them to Samira Shalan P.E., at 954-797-2282, or by email at mailto:SShalan@Plantation.org. All statements postmarked on or before the
end of 10-day comment period November 20, 2022 will become a part of the public hearing record. You may also visit the project website at www.plantation.org/MidtownBridge.

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried-out by FDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. § 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated May 26, 2022, and executed by FHWA and FDOT. If you would like to review the project documents prior to the Public Hearing, they will be available to the public  beginning on October 20, 2022 at the Plantation City Hall located at 400 NW 73 Avenue, Plantation FL
33317 Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.). The documents are also available on the project website at www.plantation.org/MidtownBridge. The documents will remain on display through November 20, 2022.
