City Council
Jennifer Andreu, Timothy Fadgen and Louis Reinstein will be sworn in to their city council seats at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, at City Hall. The public is invited.
City Council consists of five (5) Council Members who are elected at large (citywide) to serve four-year terms. The City of Plantation has a Strong Mayor form of government, meaning City Council sets policies and the Mayor acts as the Chief Executive Officer responsible for policy execution and daily operations.
The City Council passes the laws of the City, which are called Ordinances. It adopts Resolutions that authorize actions on behalf of the City and establishes policies by which the City is governed. Council is responsible for adopting an annual budget that funds City services, programs and projects. It also makes decisions on major development projects.
