Floodplain Management Planning
On February 14 2018 the City of Plantation City Council Approved Resolution No. 12578 Adopting the (5) year update to the Broward County Multi-Jurisdictional Local Mitigation Strategy (LMS). The City of plantation is committed in planning and implementing projects to improve the Community as a whole and one of these perpetual targets is to reduce and eliminate the risk to people and properties in the event of flood inducing events. In so doing, the City of Plantation receives the following direct benefits:
- CRS credit under Activity 510 Floodplain Management Plan (FMP).
- Eligible for the following mitigation grant programs administered through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA):
- Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP)
- Pre-Disaster Mitigation (PDM)
- Severe Repetitive Loss (SRL)
- Flood Mitigation Assistance (FMA)
