Care-A-Little
The Plantation Volunteer Fire Association’s Care-a-Little program was developed was originally developed as a way to assist school-aged children in the City of Plantation who need help with self-esteem and personal issues or are “at risk” for trouble. The program raises money to provide these kids, as identified by the school system, with clothing, medical, dental or eye care, gifts at holiday time and, if necessary, food or furniture.
The goal of Care-A-Little is to help these children feel better about themselves so they can remain in school and help improve themselves and their family or personal situation.
Special programs organized by Care-A-Little include:
- Santa hospital visit
- School backpacks
- For the Love of Socks
- Canned Food Drive
- Family meal distribution during the holidays
