Parks & Facilities
- What are your hours of operation?
  Click here for our hours of operation.
- Is fishing allowed at the parks?
  Fishing is not allowed in our parks, with the exception of some City-sponsored fishing clinics.
- Who can I speak to in regard to renting a field or open space at a park?
  Please contact the Athletics Department at 954-452-2508 to reserve an athletic field or open space.
- Who can I speak to in regard to renting a pavilion?
  You may visit any one of our facilities (Central Park, Volunteer Park, Jim Ward Community Center, Plantation Community Center or Deicke Auditorium) to reserve a facility. For general information, contact Central Park at 954-452-2510.
- I have an organized group of children that want to use a playground. Is there a fee for that?
  For information regarding group reservations of our playgrounds, see our Playground Ordinance brochure.
- Who can I speak to in regard to renting a room or banquet facility for a party or event?
  Please visit or call the facility you are interested in for availability and pricing information.

- What is included in facility rental pricing and how do I reserve a date?
  The price is based on residency (Plantation residency or non-resident). In addition, a refundable security deposit is added to the resident or non-resident rate. The security deposit must be paid in order to reserve any date(s). We provide tables and chairs. Contact each facility regarding other amenities such as kitchen facilities, etc.
- Is alcohol allowed at recreation facilities?
  Alcohol is only allowed at our Banquet Facilities (Volunteer Park and Deicke Auditorium). If you plan on serving alcohol until 9:00pm, a waiver provided by the City must be filled out by the permit holder, notarized and returned to facility management. If serving alcohol after 9:00pm, the notarized waiver is needed and a City of Plantation police officer must be hired at the renter’s expense. All paperwork is due at least 30 days before the event.
- What time does my function have to end?
  Your function would need to end by 11:00pm, allowing for one-hour of cleanup after the event.
Plantation Equestrian Center
- Is there an entry fee for horse shows and events?
  No, all events are free to the public.
- Is boarding available at the Equestrian Center?
  No horses live full-time at the Equestrian Center; we do not offer boarding.
- In the event of a hurricane or other event, can I board my horse at the Equestrian Center?
  No, we are not a hurricane evacuation shelter.
Plantation Preserve Golf Course
- How many days in advance can you book a tee time?
  Members can book seven days in advance, the public can book 5 days in advance.
- Do you have to be a Plantation resident to play the course?
  All golfers are welcome to play no matter where they live.
- Does the Plantation Preserve offer golf lessons?
  Yes, we do! We have multiple instructors that offer a variety of lesson plans.
Programs, Events and Activities (Parks & Recreation)
- How can I access information on classes, programs and camps, etc.
  Please view our Recreation Quarterly for information on classes, programs and camps, etc.
- How can I access the online registration system for classes and programs?
  For first time users, please visit one of our recreation facilities to show proof of residency and be entered into our recreation software system. Once entered, you will be given a username and password.
- What types of programs do you offer for the Senior population?
  Please visit our Senior Programming page or call our Senior Programming Division at 954-585-2345.
- What’s the best way to find out about Department current events, news and updates?
  Follow us on social media; we have Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts. Find us @plantationparks.
- How do I receive a childcare statement for tax purposes?
  Please submit a public request for information through the City clerk’s office.
- How can I sponsor an event or program or volunteer at an event?
  Please visit our Get Involved page or call our Special Events Department at 954-452-2502.
