This program is responsible for the delivery of high-quality water to our customers. Proper and safe maintenance includes on-going inspection of over 327 miles of water transmission mains, preventive (PMs) maintenance such as hydrant flushing and flow testing with valve maintenance—all to ensure the continuous supply of potable water that meets all federal, state and local standards and regulations.

A service worker in the fire hydrant “grave yard.” Fire hydrants are expensive, so old fire hydrants are saved for their parts to help maintain existing hydrants that need repair. This allows us to save money for the City.
