Water Quality Assurance
This program provides vital specialized service to the city as a facility certified by the National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Conference (NELAC). The certified laboratory provides water quality testing and monitoring in compliance with the federal Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) for the two water treatment plant and the federal Clean Water Act (CWA) for the Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant.
The environmental analysts are highly skilled staff members who oversee all testing in compliance with regulatory agencies to assure the city’s water and waste water comply with all federal, state, and local laws.
In addition to their college degrees, the three staff members are required each year to attend applicable training to learn new laws, rules and regulations in order to maintain the city laboratory’s National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Conference (NELAC) certification.
