The Affordable Housing Advisory Committee (AHAC) consists of 8-11 members representing at least 6 of the 11 disciplines identified in Statute 420.9076 (2).  It must also include an elected official from the municipality represented by the committee.  AHAC members are appointed by City Council.  Representatives from the Planning and Zoning departments may attend in an advisory capacity.

The Committee reviews local government existing policies, procedures, ordinances, land development regulations, and the City’s Comprehensive Plan. It provides recommendations and suggests policies that seek to remove barriers that limit the development or preservation of affordable housing, or that drive up housing costs.

The meetings are generally scheduled on the first Thursday at 4:30 PM in the City Council Chambers unless notified otherwise.
